Intrusive Thoughts: How Much Can Modern Parts Improve My Old Bike?
Hey there. I’d love to frankenstein together a bike for my neighbor using your frame and random bits from my spare parts bin. He’s a new dad and has been very mountain bike curious. Help me show him the light!
He’s 6’1” and I assume this is an XL, so guessing this frame would fit.

I've had hand numbness issues quite a bit during riding motos or during long mtb descents. I never figured out a great way to manage it on motos, but for mountain bikes, I've tried a few things such as foam grips, different bars, gloves, and most recently stronger brakes. The only thing that made a big difference for me was the strong brakes. It let me loosen my grip much more on sustained descents since the brakes didn't require as much pressure. I don't have hardware in my hands/wrists, so I'm not sure this is the solution for you, but it helped me for my situation.
I never tried the rev grips or the fasst elastomer bars, but they were definitely on my radar.

AXS Reverb Dropper Post with Controller
$400 USDReverb AXS RockShox Dropper Post. Comes with Controller and AXS battery. Got this brand new last summer. Great post but I have a smaller full suspension frame so the tire can rub the battery when fully dropped and compressed. No signs of wear and post is in excellent condition. Post travel is 150 mm and post length is 440 mm with a diameter of 31.6 mm. Saddle not included. Willing to take offers if it doesn't sell for awhile.

Rockshox Zeb Ultimate Grey 160/170 Charger 2.1
$450 USDBought new in fall 2021. 160 mm spring currently installed but the fork will also include a 170 mm spring. Nothing mechanically wrong with the fork at all, been serviced a couple of times for routine maintenance. Some cosmetic scratches, no scratches at all on stanchions.
