The Zipp 2001 used cored laminates back in 1992, but that was a road bike, so who cares. Klein used sandwich on the Mantra carbon in 1999.

@JamesPA: I must have some pretty old geometry on my tandem. Riding in the back you can almost reach around to the front bar.

I'm glad somebody finally brought this up. I was a little scared to, what with all the hardcore single rider riders on PB. I don't know where my marriage would be without having the tandem in our lives, it really saved us. Bring on the tandem reviews!

Orbea Occam S50 Carbon
$2100 USD2013 Orbea Occam 29er S50 Carbon. Size Large.
The bike only has one season of riding on it and it's in great shape, ready to ride. Just had complete tune-up. Three minor nicks on the paint hardly noticeable. This is an excellent bike all-round and it looks great.
The carbon frame is handmade made in Spain. Orbea does not outsource to China for carbon frames.
Rear suspension is a concentric pivot design similar to Scott Genius and Trek ABP, otherwise known as split pivot.
Upgrades:
-Fork: Fox 32 Float 120mm travel, Factory FIT CTD, 15mm Axel
-Dropper post: RockShox Reverb 125mm travel, used less than one season
-Tires: Tubeless conversion to Schwalbe Nobby Nic (150 miles on them)
