This bike is the 2017 model and has less than 18 months of use. It is in excellent condition and has been maintained by Pedal Pusher bike shop in Harrisburg. Components include: 6061 aluminum alloy frame with thru-axles front & rear Carbon front fork Compact crank 50/34t Shimano 105 derailleurs front & rear 11 speed cassette (11-32t) Double wall rims 700 x 28 Continental Gatorskin tires (upgrade from original Clement tires) TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes 42 cm handlebar Raleigh saddle Rack & fender mounts Braze-ons for 2 bottle cages Weight: 23 lbs I had the bike serviced in December 2017, which included a new bottom bracket, new chain, new brake cables, new brake pads, and one new tire. I am selling it with a second new Gatorskin tire since my new bike uses a different size tire. The Merit 3 is an excellent first road bike because it combines a smooth aluminum frame with a Shimano 105 group set and disc brakes, which you typically don’t see at this price level. The 32 tooth gearing in the back cassette makes for much easier climbing than with the typical 28 tooth gearing you get on most entry level bikes have. I’ve taken this bike up 12% inclines and on 100 mile rides and it’s been comfortable & reliable the whole way. Raleigh sells the 2018 version of this for $1,200 with the exact same equipment and Amazon’s price is the same. Price is $700 firm, cash only please.
