Why Arc’teryx Thinks It Can Outperform Established MTB Brands
Zoic is one I can recommend. Great stuff for the price, especially if you watch for one of their sales. Outdoor Research is very good and not insane on price. I like to have mtb specific shorts but on the upper body I’ve found it doesn’t matter too much and you have a lot more options that way. May favorite shell to carry for the occasional storm is the black diamond alpine start. It’s light enough to stuff in your pocket and will take the edge off most reasonable weather and can often be found on sale. Sierra.com is a great resource. They often have mtb specific stuff and beyond that a variety of high end performance items from various brands. Selection is hit and miss but prices are hard to beat.

Has anyone here had a rock take out your valve stem? Just curious. Been riding for decades, never seen or even thought of that happening.

Intrusive Thoughts: The Hudski Dualist - Is This a Mountain Bike?
At first glance, it looks just like my first MTB I bought back in 1991, so I’m going to say yes, it’s a mountain bike. Here’s a prompt for endless debate: what is the bare minimum required to be labeled a “mountain bike” vs not? Back then it was pretty much just knobby tires and maybe some easier gearing.
