Oct 31, 2025Kona Unit
$1100 CADGreat bikepacking rig. Purchased from Dismount in June 2023 as a Single Speed Unit, I upgraded the awful Alhonga brakes to utilitarian 2-piston shimano brakes and tossed an 11-speed Deore groupset on it. Tires are Teravail Cumberlands, currently set up with tubes.
The negatives? I fell on this bike on an off-camber, wet climb and put the downtube down into a rock, leading to the dent seen in the photos. I sanded the paint down to ensure the metal looked okay and then sealed it to prevent rust. Has been fine for over a year now. Some paint scuffing from bikepacking bags as well.
Cane creek bar ends would come off before sale.

Feb 19, 2025Niner RLT 9 Gravel Bike / Bikepacking Rig
$2100 CADSize 59 Niner RLT 9 aluminum frame,
- All electronic shifting
- SRAM Rival shifters and brakes
- SRAM GX Eagle rear derailleur
- SRAM 11-50 cassette
- Niner Wheels
- Specialized Sawtooth Tires set up tubeless
- Saddle will be swapped to WTB Volt
- Pedals NOT INCLUDED
Great bike for gravel bikepacking. Easily clears 45-47mm tires, though they claim up to a 50mm will fit ( I am not sure personally). Run 45-47 and have tons of mud clearance. Climbing gears for days with the 50t in the rear, but still decent top end with the Easton crankset and 42t chainring. Electronic shifting is consistent and smooth. Cassette is hardly used as it is off of a secondary wheelset, tires have lots of life still.
