There's a heatshrink (i think that's what it's called) around the spring. This falls down after a while. It's a tight fit, but you can rotate it back up again, it should be located just above halfway up the spring.

Thanks Si! Like any good hardtail the devils in the details and u can tell the production privee boys took their time with this one. The chainstays are shaped, flattened and even twisted agressively.. provides vertical compliance without any noticeable side flex.

Nice and chill! Like the way each scene evolved with the approaching headlamp.. soothing and exciting at once.

Cheers mate! Yes, this combo makes a lot of sense to me for a number of reasons. The front stands up better on a 29er with 120mm of travel.. tried a 650b with 150 but I felt it dived excessively. Also the fatty on the back absorbs the bumps nicely. The shan is such an awesome hardtail for a number of reasons too..I wasnt expecting the boosted and pressfit bb to make so much sense but it does..zero flex, instant drive at the crank..awesome chainline. I could go on

@Sshredder: true! Makes a lot of sense to have a 2 bike quiver with different characteristics despite similar numbers. Going back and forth between the 2 depending on trail and mood is a lot of fun.
