Scott Bikes Sponsors The Camp of Champions

Dec 7, 2010 at 5:03
by Ken Ach
Ever since Mike Hopkins joined our coaching staff we have been dreaming of getting Scott bikes at The Camp of Champions. After watching the premiere of Life Cycles in Whistler, we KNEW we had to get them on board at COC. Luckily when we approached Scott about becoming a Camp of Champions sponsor, they were as stoked on us, as we were on them. Scott Bikes is now a part of The Camp of Champions demo fleet. The most crazily amazing fleet of demo bikes anywhere. If you've ever wanted to ride a Scott Gambler in the Whistler Bike Park, or if you ever wanted to session a Scott Voltage in "The Compound" dirt jumps, mulch pit or on the Big Air Bag, 2011 is the year it's all possible. The Scott Gambler

Camp of Champions owner and founder Ken Achenbach says "Part of my dream for camp is to have all the best bikes in the world available for campers to demo. Having Scott join the COC family with The Gambler and the Voltage gets us closer to that dream. It's going to be an amazing summer riding these bikes."

The Gambler will be spec'd to World Cup standard with parts from our sponsors, so that campers ride a build worthy of the frame and so that you just might be able to keep up to Mike Hopkins. Where more than one part is listed for a certain part, it's so that over the course of camp, you can ride the bike set up in different ways so you can feel all the differences parts make to find the set up you like the best.

iv got a gambler 08 (DH20) still with most parts stock, still an amzing piece of engenerring. Replaced the shock for a DHX5.0 and works really well. I think people who go to the camp will be very please with the bikes Smile

you guys wont be disappointed with them. ive been hammering on mine for a couple seasons and with countless rainy rides the pivots still havent needed service. it just plows through gnarly sections and rides amazingly. little heavy but you'd never even notice it. good addition COC keep it up

oh ok I see. But the voltage fr is more a whistler bike than the big heavy gambler...

Hopefully we can add that bike the year after. Ken

@voltagerider_ the voltage fr is awesome bike, I saw just a few last season at whistler, last season I rode a gambler, and I can say both bikes are just solid as pure gold. gambler is heavy yes but im not racer so some pounds more are not a problem, and the voltage fr is better for some tricks I think so, no mather what I think the gambler is more heavyduty bike, more resistant, for a everyday hard riding, i have seen some many borken bikes but never a gambler dh 10. anyway is just one more opinion and both bikes are awesome. happy trails guys!
