Biking Through the Taliban’s Shadow: A Solo Journey Into Afghanistan’s Remote Wakhan Corridor

Hi ! Thanks for your comments. It's a pretty specific preparation to go there. I took many experiences from all my last explorations in Central Asia and specifically the last one in Afghanistan in 2024 (the story in on PB too). In terms of informations and route, it's long way to establish the right plan : more than one year. And also you have to consider that things change so fast in Afghanistan. So you need to update your knowledge very frequently. And the fact to travel alone is also challenging : food, water, supplies, itinerary, weather, altitude. I tried also to learn some Dari (the language spoken in Afghanistan) in order to be able to introduce myself and to explain what i am doing here.

Hello thanks for your nice comment. I say often that we dont make a confusion between locals and governments. That means people are mostly friendly, everywhere in the world. People wants to leave in peace. For me it's very important we’re moving away from pure performance to focus on sport, adventure, pushing our limits, and human connections. This is crucial because it reflects my philosophy. We need to contribute to the world’s progress rather than just showcasing our egos—that no longer makes sense in today’s world. I started to explore alone Central Asia in summer 2021. And i will definitely continue like this ! I love this place in the world and i love people there. Thanks for your nice comment. I am concern about this article and your question ;-) I use clipless pedals with appropriate shoes to walk. Because in that king of trip, you walk very often, specially during the climbs. For me, it's not a problem, i can walk hours with.
