Aug 28, 2015Custom Built Kona Honzo-Fox 34, Shimano XT
$1599 USDFor sale is a 2012 Kona Honzo. I built this bike with durability, longevity, and high performance in mind. I am 6'2" and this bike is great for anyone 6'0" to 6'3".
Frame: 2012 Kona Honzo, size large -treated internally with Framesaver. Last summer, I converted the rear hub to a 12x142mm thru axle. It's nice and stiff and tracks wherever you point it. The steel frame has a nice amount of "give" to it and takes a bit off of the trail. Full cable is amazing for the wet riding here in the NW. I rarely rode this bike in wet conditions.
Fork: 2012 Fox Float 140 RLC - Rebound, Lockout, and low and high speed compression dampening. Air spring. Buttery smooth Kashima coating.
-This fork has been not been ridden since it was fully rebuilt at Fox's Factory in California. Currently set at140 mm (5.5") of travel. I had it set to 120mm up until the rebuild, but was curious to see how it rode in the longer travel setting. This can be reversed easily with a spacer to bring it back down to 120mm (or even down to 105-110mm for a cross country set up).
Wheels: Stan's Flow rims laced to Hope Pro 2 hubs, DT Swiss double butted spokes, 32 hole. Killer wheels.
Brakes: Shimano XT, 180mm rotor in the front, 160mm in the rear
Cranks: Shimano XT-175mm, Chromag Sequence 32t narrow-wide ring. Ridden 10x
Shifter: Shimano XT 10 speed
Rear derailluer: Shimano SLX with clutch. Can swap for Shimano XT without a clutch if you would like. Ridden 10x
Cassette, Chain: Shimano SLX 10sp.
Tires: WTB Vigilante 2.3" front and rear. Set up tubeless with Stan's sealant. Can swap for Maxxis Ardents, 2.4"F, 2.25"R
Bar: Raceface Atlas low rise
Seatpost and Stem: Thomson Elite
Petals not included
This bike has been maintained by an expert mechanic and there are few cosmetic scratches on the frame.
It is an incredibly dependable, do-it-all, ride anywhere billy-goat of a bike. It can shred anything. Even though it is a 29'er, the super short chainstays make manualling and wheely-ing a breeze. For a a 29'er, it's a really nice surprise. I built this bike up as the last bike that I would ever need to own. All the parts were hand picked by me with durability, quality, and performance in mind. If you want a bike that you can ride hard and put away wet, this is the bike for you.
I am open to reasonable monetary offers.
