Roman Arnold Returns as Executive Chairman at Canyon
He should make his first priority figuring out how to package bikes so that they arrive to the customer without totally preventable damage from a .25 savings in shipping materials. If you are going to sell a race bike, and you have a customer willing to pay top dollar for it...at least package the thing like its a top of the line race bike. The gap between their customer service and their product packaging is abysmal. This isn't rocket science guys. My husband tried three times to get a Sender. Each time it came damaged. Three months of hassle. Yeah, its a first world problem but its still ridiculous. They lost an ultimate sale from him in the end and from me too because I chose not to deal with the drama after his experience.

Man Throws Bike Off Bridge in Whistler Bike Park Altercation
As a woman rider who has been on this trail alone I might have a slightly different perception of what would happen if a woman encounters this type of threat. Three young men with cool heads had an advantage here at least in theory, if they needed to use that advantage had things escalated any further. And lets be clear, they escalated pretty intensely given that its a bike park and most people enter a bike park to have fun, not to have their bike thrown down a fairly difficult to access creek in steep terrain and then physically threatened distant from law enforcement and shelter. I would have been terrified if this had been an interaction I was faced with. Hopefully the bike park will take this threat seriously if this is a repeat offender of the local nature and make sure that riding is safe for everyone, regardless if this was a one-off mental freak out or other situation.

Santa Cruz Nomad CC

$4600 USD
This bike is seriously sweet and is ready to ride park, trail, whatever you want. High-end build from Santa Cruz with SRAM X01 kit. Reserve carbon wheels have lifetime warranty and are legit strong in the rocks. It has high and low positions plus super tune-able fork and shock for just about any condition. The 27.5 wheel size makes it good in tight corners and whippy over whoops and jumps. Features a FOX Factory 38 fork with 170mm of travel. FOX Float X2 shock. Reverb Dropper. SRAM Code RSC Brakes. Full custom, clear frame protection. Size Small (fits riders 5'1" to 5'5"). Used two seasons. Meticulously maintained by my husband who is (unfortunate for him) a part-time bike mechanic. Bike has been totally torn down, cleaned, rebuilt and is in awesome condition. Very well cared for and always transported on the inside of a vehicle. Fork and Shock have been recently totally overhauled by FOX and are smooth as butter. Pedals do not convey.

The B-Side: Death and Tacos
Oh gosh, this sounds exactly like my experience. I lost my Mom on Dec. 31st after her unexpected two week stint in the ICU. Following her death its been a struggle to balance work, the estate settlement process and life in general. It took a bit for me to have the emotional strength to get back into snowboarding again but it finally happened. Now I look forward to a summer of biking to clear my head and finally a well needed revisit to Whistler. I send you good juju, from a fellow woman and someone who is going through what you are. My best to you!!!
