Oct 24, 2024Rocky Mountain Slayer
$500 USDIn spite of all the paint blemishes, and scratches there's no structural damage. The worst of it is on the rocker. The large scratch you see pictured happened in 2021 so it's definitely not anything that has compromised the carbon. The biggest issue is the rear axle spacing. It's a few MM over 148. It's been like this for years. My first assumption was the rear pivot hardware was tweaked but the bearings are super smooth and nothing seems bent. It's been like this since 2022. It's clearly not an issue that will shorten bearing life or cause any issues for that matter. It's just annoying when installing and removing the wheel. All pivot bearings get repacked yearly. All are smooth. Suspension action is great. There's some brake cable rub on the chain stay where it's externally routed. The axle is a Yeti axle. I had issues with the OEM axle coming loose so I guess I over torqued it causing it to fail. My local Rocky dealer didn't have an axle but they did have a Yeti axle that just happened to be the same thread pitch and length. The PF BB tube doesn't creak which isnt something that can be said about all frames. Shock is well maintained. Needs nothing. Frame is ready to rock out of the box.
Side note: I was able to run a 210mm dropper which many size M frames won't accept.

Aug 12, 2024Raceface Sixc 170mm
$100 USDPrice includes shipping.
I prefer this older model to the 30mm model with the bearing preload ring which I've been using for the past few years. I prefer shorter than 170 so I'm selling these on. Plenty of cosmetic scratches and some rub but nothing that compromises the integrity. There's no reports of this older model having the pedal insert issue so many of the next cranks had. 104bcd, 24mm spindle. 68/73. I used these as 1x but they have 2x tabs if that's your thing. Dont' write these off because they are old. These lay down power with rigidity you're not going to feel in anything shy of heavy DH metal cranks but weigh roughly the same as XTR. They have a great feel on the trail too because carbon seems to dampen unwanted chatter through the pedals. They haven't seen use in many years. I actually forgot about them it's been so long. They were used for 2 years then stored in the garage.

Sep 15, 2023Hope Tech 4 E4
$375 USDVitalmtb picked these brakes as product of the year. You won't find a single review that isn't glowing. The only negative you hear is price. At 375 that's no longer a negative. The 30% power increase over Tech 3 is conservative. I had tech 3 v4's and these smoke them. I'm running external routing so the rear will come ready to rock out of the box. Both brakes have great bleeds and stay perfectly consistent on the trail. Comes with extra Hope Race pads and full metal pads. Front line is long enough for a 180mm fork. Rear is long enough for size M frames. It might be a little short for size L and up. If you're running L or larger I have extra Hope hose I can include.
