Review: Enve’s M735E Wheelset Fails Our Test
I had a set of the first ENVE DH 26's that broke on a flat section of a blue at Winter Park. Meanwhile my backup set of Mavic 729s have withstood about 10,000 cases/bad line choices and lived to tell the tale.

Lee McCormack's Guide to Finding the Handlebar Width Sweet-Spot
Even in the desert, width can be an issue. I cut mine down to 760 (I'm 5'11") when I lived in Grand Junction due to a few of the more common trails having tighter rock-squeezes. I'm currently riding 800 (b/c they came with the bike and I feel weird cutting carbon) and they feel strange.

Intense 951 Custom Build Chris King/ENVE/Saint Large

$1000 USD
For sale we have my 2013 Intense 951 size Large downhill (DH) bike. This is a custom build with top of the line components. New parts within the last 6 rides: Zee levers ($75), MRP G3 Guide ($100), new rear wheel (DT Swiss FR 570 laced to Chris King hub) ($250 because I had already owned the hub). That's over $400 in good-as-new parts. This bike is ready to ride and needs nothing. Pivots/bearings replaced ½ way through the season and I had the forks and shock serviced at the same time. 26" wheels, perfect for bike park. Don't let the marketing departments fool you, you don't need 27.5" or 29" wheels unless you're racing DH World Cups, in which case you'd have a sponsor and wouldn't be looking at used bikes. There are reasons why you see so many guys at Rampage on 26" to this day: lighter, stronger, quicker acceleration. Bike has normal cosmetic marks from 3.5 seasons of riding, but nothing structural. No damage to frame or forks, most cosmetics are due to shuttling bikes in the back of a truck. Only reason I'm selling is because I got a screaming deal on a like new M16 and don't need/have room for 2 DH bikes. If I'm getting beat up by low-ballers I will just keep it to ride Winter Park because it sure jumps and turns better than the longer/bigger wheeled "modern" DH bikes. Bike comes with a set of new tires (Minion DHF ST DH casing front, Bontrager G4 2.4 DH casing rear) as well as a few spare Minion DHRs. Also included are 2 DH tubes and a derailleur hanger. Over $100 in parts that you would have had to buy at some point in the future, for free! Fork: 2013 Boxxer RC. Serviced mid-season w/ new seasls, no leaks or scratches to stanchions. Shock: Fox DHX RC4. Serviced mid-season. Spring: 550lb RSC Titanium spring (was $285 new). Also including a stock unused 500lb Fox spring. Pedals: Shimano Saint (included) Cranks: Shimano Saint M810 Shifter: Shimano XTR (dual actuation (forward/backward shifting FANCY!)) Derailleur: Shimano Saint M810 Seatpost: Thompson Elite carbon Seat: WTB Volt Handlebars: Answer DH 780 (uncut) Grips: Oury lock-on. Brakes Lever: New Shimano Zee Brake Caliper: Shimano Saint M810. Front and rear pads have around 50% life remaining. Rotors: Shimano Ice Tech 203mm Wheels: Front ENVE DH laced to Chris King. Rear DT Swiss FR 570 laced to Chris King. In person (no shipping), 100% cash deals only. No trades.

I remember having a blast riding Tranquility on my '98 rigid Rockhopper when I first started. Is it the same joy as throwing a nasty whip on Dirt Merchant? No, but in the Midwest you make due with what you have.
