I think it would be interesting to look at how the anit's make a bike react to longitudinal force inputs to the rear wheel. Anti's are simply reaction or "jacking" forces in the vertical direction as a result of forces in the longitudinal direction at the tire contact patch. We tend to think of this as simply accelerating or braking, but much of the longitudinal force input comes from the longitudinal component of bumps; think of hitting a square edge.
