YT Industries Releases Autobiographical Video, New Branding & 2018 Range
Why not make the smallest cog 8, so you get 46/8 = 575% range! Or, as this article would state, a 75% increase in range! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!

What if You Could Design Your Dream Bike? - Pinkbike Poll
@zsandstrom: except they don't have to sell it, since it's free on the site. How would they monetize the results of this poll when you or I can just write down the results?

Scott Genius 2018 - First Ride
Can someone explain to me the pros/cons of the different ways to mount the shock? For bikes like this, the shaft is either topside or bottomside and it seems to me that having it on the bottom would best for keeping it clean, so why do some manufacturers mount it like Scott has here?

Are You Willing to Buy Your Next Bike Online? - Pinkbike Poll
Good point. I don't understand why the argument about direct sales is there. Any bike shop owner I've talked to tells me that their profit is tied to maintenance and selling parts, clothing, etc. The actual profits from bike sales is a small piece of the pie. When I buy my next bike direct from manufacturer (hopefully a Canyon!) I'll still get it serviced by my LBS and buy all my spares, etc from the shop.

Pinkbike Poll: Fashion or Function?
Poll says more people care about function over fashion... I find that pretty hard to believe when I see all downhill racers wearing baggy clothes instead of aero lycra, even on the world DH circuit. I'm pretty sure the author of this article and many others are lying to themselves if they think they put function over fashion. It seems to come off as a purist thing to criticize those who value fashion as much as function. Everyone knows if you look good, then you feel good. And if you feel good, you're gonna ride good.

Summer Time Shred with Dane Tudor in Revelstoke - Video
I think the main difference is how easy to it is to access alpine on motorized equipment, which leads to large volume. Mtn Bikers probably aren't much better (lesser weight, but still bad), but you'll never see the volume of riders if it means 2hrs+ pedalling just to get there. You've got a valid point - I think volume also plays into it.
