Rimpact Launches New EDH & Gravel/XC Tire Inserts
@mountainsofsussex: Not only was my tyre stuck to the rim with sealant, it was stuck to the insert as well. This made it super hard to drop the tyre into the well and remove the first bead. The insert then needed to be torn out. I usually have no trouble fitting tyres tool free after years of swapping muddy DH tyres in a field, probably got decent technique and thumb strength :) Bead dropper is a great workshop tool but I don't carry one on rides, I just prey the insert does its job and hopefully I never need to fit a tube on the trail or a single tyre lever is up to the job. The valve extender trick is a good one too - I have one in my trail kit. A long stem can tube work as well.

Opinion: The Opposite of Learning to Fly
I had a conversation with a rugby playing colleague about most adults generally not falling over as a matter of course. To most people it's a bit of a shock! If you grow up and persist at falling over I think you learn to take it better - to a point! I have done 'falling over sports' all my life - skiing, skating, bmx, moto (OK, really don't want to fall on that one) and MTB including DH racing so I'm not bad at falling over now. I've had a couple of OTBs where I've tucked and rolled on instinct.. Saying that, I'm currently nursing two injuries from heavy slams and at 49 I'm aware I'm stiffer and heal slower. I'm still out chasing personal bests on DH trails though!

Rimpact Launches New EDH & Gravel/XC Tire Inserts
Installed mine in minutes by hand with no levers. The ride quality was great, nicely damped and supportive. Removing the tyre was another issue - a real battle. Luckily it was only because the tyre was worn out rather than punctured, even after being smashed into rocks on the hardtail. On the trail would have been a real battle so it's a good job they work!

Video: Story of the Race with Ben Cathro
I remember this system coming out and really wanting one: Roll offs seem to be replacing tear offs which is a good thing. Not only do they cause litter, at an SDA round from Fort Bill once the wind immediately ripped all three of my loaded tear offs off right out of the start! When the difference in runs is fractions of a second I wonder why there is not a more aero MTB race run setup with smaller cannisters since they don't need to last as long as a Moto or enduro setup. Save some weight and reduce a bit of drag.

Transition Patrol - Carbon - Large

$1650 GBP
I’m selling my perfectly good, in fact absolutely brilliant Transition Patrol enduro bike for no other reason than I fancied a change. We’ve had good times from big rides in the Lakes and Peaks to messing about on local trails - a great and very versatile bike with a great poppy but planted feeling Horst link. I bought the frame new from Twelve50 Bikes in Frodsham and custom built to my spec. I have been a team mechanic and worked on bikes for years so well maintained through its life. Transition Patrol 155mm travel 27.5” Carbon 2016 Large (I’m 6’ for reference) FOX DPX2 shock (upgrade from stock) Rock Shox Pike 160mm Hope headset Joystick 50mm stem Joystick carbon bars 800mm wide 15mm rise Ergon grips XT M8000 brakes 200 front, 180 rear XT M8000 11 speed shifter - i-spec Cassette - 11 speed 11-42 M8000 11 speed mech Shimano XT 165mm cranks 30T Shimano ring Hope hubs on 32 spoke DT XM481 rims MAXXIS tyres DHF 2.5 WT DHR 2 2.4 WT Reverb seatpost with 1X lever Fabric saddle Pantone colour matched fork stickers Recent ENDURO bearings Recent service - fork lowers, new foam rings and wiper seals, recent Charger damper bleed, full brake bleed. NOTE - in the photos you can see a 'crease' on the top tube - this is the Invisiframe from where it was in a work stand, not the frame! Includes: Spare mech hanger Spare chainstays - the original ones suffered a failure where a cable guide glue fell off. Covered in the Pinkbike review. I had a prompt replacement from Transition but rode the originals with some tape until the first bearing change. New ones fitted and no issues with the cable guide since but others included anyway! SRAM bleed kit for Reverb 1x bleeding edge port Bank transfer preferred Give me a shout to discuss viewing and/or collection - Greno/Wharncliife/Peak District easily reachable.
