The Downhill Scene In Santa Cruz Isn't 'Outta Gas' - Video
Here in Salt Lake City, UT 99% of the trails are for "dirt roadies". We even had a city hire Gravity logic just to make easy non-technical flow trails. Another local city tried to pass an ordinance banning bike parks in two of the main canyons with resorts. It used to be that advanced trails were built and you had something to progress to. Instead now the thinking here is to dumb down all the trails so everyone can get a trophy. You are right, unfortunately the only way to get advanced trails anymore is to have them unsanctioned. It's almost to the point where I can be riding a hardtail.

Large Santa Cruz CC Nomad Enduro Carbon Wheels

$2799 USD
Are you looking for a "unicorn" bike which is able to handle long XC rides then the next day handle the black diamonds or enduro racing? The Santa Cruz Nomad is one bike that can handle anything you throw at it. I am the original owner of the bike and built the bike from the frame up. The frame is a size large and is the more expensive carbon version. I've kept good care of the bike and greased the bearings regularly. I've only used this bike for normal trail riding and have a dedicated DH bike for resorts, and shuttle type runs. The specifications are as follows; -Santa Cruz Nomad CC Frame with Monarch Plus RC3, rock shox monarch band kit and spare bearing kit.. I can also sell with a Fox DHX2 and 375 SLS Spring for $3299. Bike was ridden with a coil shock 95% of the time. -Rock Shox Pike 160mm RCT3 with Vorsprung Luftkappe modification, spare tokens, crush nut washers, and SKF seal kit. Fork was maintained and the lower oil was changed near the end of the season. Sanctions are free from any scratches or damage. -KS Lev 150mm -WTB seat -Sram X01 drivetrain with Shimano SLX 170mm cranks w 32t ring. Crank, Bottom Bracket, and chainring are brand new. -Shimano XT Brakes -Spank Spike Race 50mm stem -Deity Handlebars cut to around 785mm. -Derby Carbon AM rims laced to Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs. I have both the shimano and XD drivers. Rear rim was replaced in August and ridden with a cushcore insert after that. Rims show signs of normal use but are free from any cracks or damage. -Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5 front, Maxxis Aggressor 2.3 rear. Tires are setup tubeless. -Spank Pedals -Bingham Basic Tune certificate if you are local. I'm not looking for any trades and don't offer financing. Won't ship to sketchy accounts, paypal and shipping fees extra. $3199 with DHX2 $2799 with Monarch Air Shock $3299 for both DHX2 and Monarch shocks.

Rocky Mountain Recalls 2018 Altitude, Instinct, and Pipeline Models for Brake Issue
They should have blamed it on "pre-production". It's nice to see a bike company own up to an issue instead of doing everything in their power to deny an issue exists.

2017 Pinkbike Awards - Advocates of the Year Winners
While I can always count on getting ran over by a high school race team member in Draper. Pivot has been doing great things for the local community here in Utah: . While the author said they can't mention everyone, they should at least get a plug. Especially when the local teams here are some of the bigger ones in the States.

2017 Pinkbike Awards - Suspension Product of the Year Nominees
While maybe not the top choice for the year, but the Vorsprung Luftkappe is an awesome product and has helped my Pike have much better mid stroke support. I highly recommend if you aren't satisfied with your Pike's performance and want a fairly cheap fix. Prior to that I was also looking at the MRP cartridges which look like an equally transforming product.
