This bike is in great shape and I just had the fork and shock rebuilt last winter. I have done a few mods (see below) to help on the trail. If you wanted to drop weight you could put the original tires and seat post back on.

Upgrades:
Increase the Rockshox Reba RC travel from 110 mm to 120 mm
Shimano Pro Koryak 120 mm dropper post.
Maxxis Minion DHR II and Maxxis Crossmark II tires. Only a couple of rides on them.
The original Specialized Ground Control tires, 29x2.1 and 29x2.3, are still in good condition and I have the original seatpost.
Front Fork: Rockshox Reba RC 120 mm
Shock: Fox Float CTD evolution with Auto Sag 110 mm
Transmission: SRAM X5 2x10
A Specialized XL is smaller than most XL's.
