Behind the Numbers: Specialized Stumpjumper EVO 29 Suspension Analysis
@ak-77: This is a very very good point. They are not looking to sell to Enduro bro necessarily, just the 90% of the market. Transition can keep the 10% haha

Behind the Numbers: Specialized Stumpjumper EVO 29 Suspension Analysis
@mikekazimer: Great work. I've been saying this about bikes for past few years and didn't like the Enduro or Stumpjumper for the same reason. Linear progressive is the way to go, reliance on the air spring (and volume spacers) to create damping force is a bad idea. Let the damper do the work - it's way more controlled. The stumpjumper is good if you aren't riding it hard...great parking lot feel but very difficult to get settled during high speed impacts, BO impacts and balancing that with small bump.

Wyn Masters Starts Fundraiser for Privateer EWS and World Cup DH Riders
@clemson: Niche market? you haven't seen the profits of Trek, Specialized, Bell, etc. The margins and profits are outstanding. Review some of which are publicly traded companies. Industry should pay up not the community.

Wyn Masters Starts Fundraiser for Privateer EWS and World Cup DH Riders
This is awesome, but why doesn't the industry foot the bill? Odd that fellow riders and community members should be paying to get a talented privateer into an opportunity....

Suspension Setup Tips From 6 World Cup Technicians - Leogang DH World Cup 2019
Most industry professionals agree...a properly damper/product should rely on damping force and not air spring force for control. GRIP2 is good but 'dumps' at medium / high velocity impacts leaving you with air spring.

Video: Are 29/27.5" Mullet Bikes Faster Than 29ers?
@loopie: This needs to be done systematically. This whole "I'm gonna throw it on the back, and then throw it on the front" is classic. If it was that easy, the big manufacturers would have figured this out a very long time ago. It really shows how little the Design Engineers know - you also need someone who can understand the relationship between the parameters to truly define how we move forward. Looking a EWS guy who has better results means very little. He may have outdated geometry and it makes the bike a little better - you don't see many designing bikes around the R&D efforts. This isn't Formula 1...these guys have 1yr to make something better before it hits production numbers that can't be backed down. Most folks on here see it as better / worse.
