@chocolate-thunder: I think we’re in vigorous agreement. Take seatbelts- the data agree that they save lives, and it’s widely available, except people don’t look beyond the curation to find the data and so we have regulators who do.
I just don’t agree with the previous point that people need better data, since the data are available. To your point, I don’t think they’re morons, but I do think most people are lazy.

@alis66: I find it difficult to see how in the age of instant information at our fingertips that people need better information. The information is there, as evidenced by all the completely correct opinions on pb, and my only conclusion is that people decide not to look for it before making big financial decisions.
