One thing that I don’t think it was mentioned is the smaller the lever i.e. the closer to the middle of the foot you have a cleat, the more pressure is going to put on the ankle with this less lever. It’ll mean the impacts are taken more by the ankle, not having a nice lever to soften that blow will probably results in some damage n the ankles over time!
