You may be right, but if he can't handle a little passive criticism at this level, wait until he rides this high that everyone has him on and submits them to a photo editor who (if he or she even takes the time to respond) won't be half as pleasant as I am, believe me. These guys building him up for a huge let down is not doing him any favours. You need to be critical of your work, and you can't take it personally when someone else doesn't like it. Pick up a magazine, compare these photos to the published ones, and see if you can spot the differences.

You guys keep missing the point, that's what's sad. But don't worry, I've boosted Tom's photos' page views enough that he should have a spread in the next Bikemag. That IS how the industry works these days, as pinkbike continues to demonstrate...

Everything shot with a flash is way under, the white balance on the snow shot is way off, and with the exception of a few they look like he just pulled off some bikepark run, probably still sitting on his bike, and turn around and shot the next guy that came by. Center-framed shots, one under-exposed scenic of an overcast day, a sequence that doesn't need to be a sequence, a shot with one of the riders half cut-off... I like the pod shot and the indian air, even though apparently the guy is landing on an airbag. But like I keep saying, it's not about this guy and his photography, after shooting a year he's at least got some grasp on catching the moment, but it's about pinkbike posting basically a facebook album in their front page.

Whoa, easy there flame-war. If you'd read what I actually wrote, you'd find that you (nor all of your "pinkbike bodyguards") don't have anything to be so pissed off about. Like I said, I was commenting on how lame an article this is for pinkbike to be running front and center on their main page. I dunno, maybe it's just a slow news week... Do they teach hypocrisy (or grammar, or syntax for that matter) in England? "but what part of you though that posting comment on here would change the people at pinkbike to change their choices in articles top post on the front page?" The part where they blocked my original comment. Maybe whoever read it will find its' value and not just pass it off as the immature internet pissing contest between glass-egos that it's become. Have a nice day.

if you want an ego stroke make a flickr page, it's a criticism on pikebike, not you. Keep shooting.

This shit sucks. This is what passes as a front page article on pinkbike these days? My little sister got a camera for christmas this year, if she shoots some random events full of lurkers, with no concept of lighting or composure will you dedicate an article to that too? Don't get me wrong, keep shooting and by all means develop your passion, but pinkbike is struggling for content these days.
