Emma Atkinson

Emma Atkinson is 20 years old and grew up in North Scotland- Inverness. She started Racing at the age of 16 and quickly got into the Scottish Cycling Team and raced Junior World Cups in Fort William, Leogang and Maribor. Unfortunately she suffered from an injury in the summer of 2010. Since then she has had surgery and been out of the saddle and getting in some recovery time.


Following Emma down the tracks is tough, she keeps me on my toes. She is fast and smooth; following her lines you can tell she puts 110% into each and every run. I've spent a few weeks riding with her out here in the alps and have seen her improve rapidly.

This year is her first year back racing and has absolutely owned the senior womens category, being a regular on that top spot in SDA rounds and in the Borderline UK National Championships. Next year she is hoping to repeat the success and enter most of the BDS rounds as well as some of the SDA rounds.

She's in her last year at Dundee University and is hoping to go to New Zealand to train in the off season, to get even fitter and faster. Emma is hoping to race the World Cup circuit by 2015.


This girl shreds on the bike and is so dedicated and relaxed off it. The way she talks about her riding and how much she wishes to succeed shows her dedication and how passionate she is about the sport.

She is looking for sponsorship for future season to help her succeed in such a tough sport.
