How did the Madera pilot v1 to v2 axle swap work out for you cause I recently picked up a pilot v1 and was wanting to replace the axle cause it's wasted but the shell is really clean?

Is it a tapered head tube? Meaning is it 1 1/8 top 1 1/2 bottom?
