Apr 10, 2016Rocky Mountain Trailhead 29'er, new in 2015
$825 CADHi,
I said no trades, but I am interested in a fat bike:) I will bring it to you for a look-see or delivery between Calgary and Golden, Invermere. Text me if you like.
This was RM's best quality sport cross-country offering, with good Shimano components. I purchased this bike new in early 2015, and put about 600 km on it last year. I thought it would be my last bike purchase, but of course I wanted a full suspension bike this year. It is in excellent shape, much loved, and I can honestly say it is in better mechanical shape than how it left the store, because:
- I took the time to re-grease and setup the wheel hub cone bearings just right.
- I trued the wheels
- It has just had a warranty repair to the fork for a known, minor defect and thus the headset bearings were re-greased
It comes with:
- bottle holder
- new, high quality setback seat post
- spare tube
- Lizardskins chain stay protector
Optional to purchase with sale:
- brand new (end of last season), Maxxis IKON 2.35: 3C MaxSPeed, EXO, TR tires, only a few rides, $120 for the pair = half price (currently installed, but would be changed out for stock Continental tires)
- new HG 62 cassette, $35 (half price)
- new derailleur hanger, $15 (half price)
- removable front fender, $20

Nov 12, 2014Rocky Mountain Whistler 50XL hybrid - new July '14
$500 CADRocky Mountan Whistler 50 hybrid. I bought this 2012 bike brand new at the end of June to see if I might like biking after missing a few decades worth. It is in mint condition, even after 850 km in the last 4 months of 2014 season. It has recently benefited from the dealer's complimentary, comprehensive tuneup. One would have to spend a lot more on a new bike to get this quality of Shimano components. I have purchased another Rocky Mountain mountain bike and will have to part with this one. It is fine for light trail use, but lacks the low, low gearing for steep climbs. The specs are in one of the photos. The Kenda tires and 700C size gives low rolling resistance. It's a great all-rounder that could use a new rider around 6 feet tall. I will throw in a $60 set of new Specialized Crossroads 700 x 38C Flack Jacket tires at the asking price. Text inquiries welcome. Will bring to a viewing between Calgary and Golden, within a reasonable time-frame, no problem.
