ginged26dj: pick any camera you like (matching desired features) since you will swap it for better one in about a year ;-) I started with Canon EOS 400D, 2 years later Pentax K-7 and 1 year later Canon EOS 5D m2. If you want to shoot just JPEG, go for Nikon. They have much better in-camera processing. Canon has got good compact cameras and of course king of landscape photography Canon EOS 5D. In any case, both NIkon and Canon use glass from HOYA/Pentax ;-)
Every camera has something. You must know what you want to shoot. There is no perfect camera for everything. My camera (Canon 5D m2) can do almost all except slow continous shooting. Thus I can "miss" some shots in Fort Bill this year. Since I don't need "machine gun" camera, it doesn't bothers me much.

Sam Hill Crash at Fort Williams
Old DeeMax rims were good. I got good old yellow DeeMax on front wheel since 2002. I weight 100kg and rim has bent sidewalls, but always kept main structure straight. I also got DT FR2340 rims, same as DeeMax. Unfortunatelly, new DeeMax follows american way of life. Cheap rubbish for consumers society.
