NS Bikes Terminates Partnership with Torquato Testa Following "Disrespectful" Video [Updated with Comment from Torquato]
@burnermtb: When you and others say "what he did is the same as what many of us have said in private" completely misses what he actually did wrong. It was the posting of an inappropriate video for everyone in the public arena, including the women involved, to see that is precisely the issue.
A common misconception is that Torquato's job was to ride bikes. That may be true for a select few bike riders who win races/comps and make their living from prize money. When you are mainly living off of sponsorships, your job is to be a brand ambassador - to portray a positive public image through videos/social media/etc. that attracts potential customers to your brand. The actual skill in riding a bike is secondary. So when Torquato posted a completely inappropriate video to the public, he 100% failed at his job, and deservingly lost it. If he still wanted to have an income from winning races and competitions, he is still free to try to make that work. But his career in selling his public persona is probably over, and he alone is responsible for that.
