Over 100 Memorial Rides Planned to Honor Alex Pretti
@lepigpen: No one is saying Americans don’t commit crimes. Of course they do. And when they do, they’re prosecuted. But that’s not the point. There’s a difference between crime that happens inside a society and crime that’s completely preventable because the people responsible shouldn’t have been here in the first place. When the government knowingly (or intentionally) allows millions of people to enter illegally, ignores enforcement, and then gives access to benefits and eventual amnesty, those outcomes aren’t random, they’re policy choices. And at that scale, it stops looking like compassion and starts looking political. It looks like importing a permanent voting base. I was stationed overseas for years. If I’d tried to enter another country illegally, collect benefits, and break laws, I’d have been deported instantly, at least as a US citizen. No other nation tolerates that. Expecting the U.S. to is unrealistic. And no, I’m not “OK” with anyone being shot or dying. That’s a weird accusation. You can believe a shooting deserves scrutiny and believe we shouldn’t be creating entirely avoidable victims through reckless border policy. Those ideas aren’t mutually exclusive. Borders and laws aren’t cruelty. They’re basic sovereignty. And he wasn't shot in the back while he was safely detained. He got antagonistic with law enforcement while carrying a concealed weapon - which just so happened to be the Sig p320; KNOWN for randomly discharging (I know, I nearly bought one!) and it just might have done so in the moment. Even if it didn't, the guy wasn't out there peacefully protesting; he was playing with fire and got burned, as he did weeks earlier. My initial issue with this article was the hypocrisy of promoting 'memorial rides' for this individual, yet NONE of the victims of illegal aliens. I bet some of them rode bikes, too.

@Cullent52: Thanks for defending the post. Genuinely wondered if this was going to be the comment that got me banned from PB.

Over 100 Memorial Rides Planned to Honor Alex Pretti
It's an abridged list, but, would you call these people 'murdered' or 'killed' or what? I don't remember any heart-felt memorial rides for these victims. Maybe if they rode a mountain bike like Pretti? Murder & Rape Victims Jocelyn Nungaray (12, Texas): Raped and strangled in North Houston in June 2024. Two Venezuelan nationals were charged with capital murder. Kayla Hamilton (20, Maryland): An autistic woman who was raped and strangled in her home in 2022 by an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador who had entered as an unaccompanied minor. Rachel Morin (37, Maryland): A mother of five raped and beaten to death while jogging on a trail in 2023. A Salvadoran national was charged with her murder. Laken Riley (22, Georgia): A nursing student beaten to death while jogging in Athens, Georgia, in February 2024. A Venezuelan national was convicted of the crime. Additional Homicide Victims Luis Jocsan Nanez Lopez (15, Kentucky): Shot and killed in 2025 while attempting to protect his mother from an attempted rape by a Mexican national. Ruby Garcia (25, Michigan): Shot and killed in March 2024 by a Mexican national who had been previously deported. Jeremy Poou Caceres (2, Maryland): Killed in a gang-related shootout involving a Salvadoran MS-13 member. Joselyn Toaquiza (21, New York): Strangled by an Ecuadorian national. Melody Waldecker (54, Virginia): Run over during a carjacking by a Salvadoran national. Victims of Fatal DUI/Traffic Incidents Sarah Root (21, Nebraska): Killed by a drunk driver from Honduras in 2016. Fletcher Harris (20) & Skylar Provenza (19, North Carolina): A couple killed in a DWI crash in January 2026 by a Mexican national. Katie Abraham (20, Illinois): Killed in a hit-and-run crash in 2025 by a Guatemalan national. Pretti brought a firearm to a protest, assaulted an officer (when he pushed him - a felony), was dumb enough to carry a Sig that's known for randomly discharging, and got into a scuffle with law enforcement, which he'd done before. It's that 'play stupid games, win stupid prices' thing.

Video: Adolf Silva Shares POV From His Rampage Crash
I do a bit of work with drones and would selfishly love to catch this kind of footage but no way I'd want to add that kind of extra mental load to the rider. I can't imagine it's not 'one more thing' for the brain to process on a live or die run off the side of a mountain.
