ThisiSheffield is a group of riders from South Yorkshire, looking to shine the spotlight on local talent, trails and general fun on all things 2 wheels. Through the blog and the web-edits we hope to try and capture the good vibe and top standard of riding around these parts.
Making these short edits has been awesome fun, with plenty of stories to tell and hopefully some good footage to show to you guys!
Episode 4 has been a long time coming, so sit back and take a look inside....Episode 4, is all about Wharncliffe.
The Sheffield scene has seen a serious boom lately, with night time dual races, new tracks and even some plans in the pipeline from the council.
Newly formed groups such as '[L=http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=137235627849]Ride Sheffield[/L]' has given the 'gravity' side of cycling a voice, liasing with local authorities to try and sort things good and proper.
Even the infamous Steve Peat has been seen turning up, giving his 2 cents and pushing hard for better and more trail access around his hometown. Watch this space!
There's a few new trails cropping up in the woods these days. There seems to be a new school trend to the trail fairys. Gone are the old akward and tight routes, replaced instead, by speed and flow. Wharncliffe is a great example of this, with previously disused terrain now being opened up after some creative shovel work, just a shame there isn't an uplift!
One new trail that our good friend Gee dug, is a definite stand out, with its flat out loose turns and loam, we picked this spot to start shooting.
The trail flowed so well, that i had no problem picking my way down with the camera, knowing that the footage would show the riders having fun, which is what it's all about right?!
Anyway, without further waffling, here is Episode 4. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!
