Riding shoulder to shoulder in a peleton avoiding road furniture at 45km/h probably doesn't require bike handling skills? I will wait for the grip shift version of the shifter. @TypicalCanadian: not an issue I've ever experienced with gripshift. It's better in tricky rough stuff because you never have to release your index finger thumb grip.

The answer is yes. CX is punishing on your wrists. Great to race a 45' lunch burner but so painfull on the bones and joints. Same trails on my 100mm travel bike feel like a plush recliner.
