Didn't have to force it at all, it was the diameter (25.4mm) for that stem.

@martins: I'm honestly not surprised. I only got it because I wanted a wider bar than I had. Once it was broken you could see that he thickness of the carbon wasn't uniform all around the circumference of the bar.
I figured bars from a reputable company would definitely be better.
I'll eventually get a bigger bike to ride but for now this one is fast and fun to ride. Mostly paved and hard packed surfaces for now.

It was a 25.4 mm bar off Ebay. Running a 31.8 aluminum bar now.
