Finding the balance between work and personal life is a never-ending trade-off. In my case; that balance is between making films and riding my bike. The state of perfect balance is when they both converge. The past few years I've worked hard to reach a point where I can call film-making my profession throughout the summer months. However, despite the drive to continuously excel as a film-maker, I've always tried to make sure that I've spend more time on my bike than holding my camera. Last year Philip helped me shoot the movie
"Roles Reversed", a film that perpetuates the situation where I enjoy film-making the most: in combination with riding my bike. Since then, we've both wanted to make another film on that theme. But it wasn't all that easy to make it happen.
Filming wise, this summer has definitely been the busiest one for me. It's been a helluva time traveling all across Europe shooting the every day life of a bunch of hard-hitting slopestylers, and well at home again I got the chance to work with some new and exiting clients. However, more work inevitably means less riding, and in my case a bit less than what I both expected and preferred. I guess this might come across as a bit whiny, but maintaining a positive balance between riding and filming is something that I hold dearly and is my way of staying motivated to go all out on both. But as summer was coming to an end, me and Philip finally squeezed in two hectic days in Järvsö Bergscykelpark and made it all happen.
