Jul 20, 2025Nicolai Argon GLF Pinion gearbox, Large, hardtail
$1800 GBPReduced from £2200
Reluctantly selling my Nicolai GLF with Pinion gearbox frame. It's the perfect winter bike, but sadly doesn't get used enough to justify keeping. I did have the full bike listed previously but have decided to split now.
475mm Reach, 63º Head angle 74º Seat angle. Pedals, climbs and descends beautifully.
I bought this to complement my Large Geometron G1, to suit a rider between 178-192cm.
Frame is in factory raw finish.
All of the geometry can be found on the Nicolai site (size large)
Pinion C1.12 gearbox (lighter weight magnesium body) with 600% range and even steps between gears. Still in warranty, and I will give it an oil change before the sale.
170mm Pinion CNC cranks. I will also include the Pinion rear sprocket and spacer kit.
Cane creek headset included with smooth bearings.
I played around with the setup and normally ran it mullet (this is what I preferred). But it can also be run as a full 29er or 27.5, with clearance in the rear for 27.5+. It really is an amazing bike, and I'm totally sold on Pinion gearboxes -- they just work so well, with very little maintenance, and no derailleurs to bash into rocks. For my next G1 I will be sure to go for the gearbox version.
I'm based in Sheffield and would prefer collection if possible. Or I would be willing to drive to meet half-way (up to an hour or so) for collection.
Brand new from Nicolai this would cost around €3949.00

I'm 6'2" and bought this to complement my Large Geometron G1, and it fits perfectly.
Frame is in factory raw finish.

Listed price is for the following:
160mm Lyrik 42mm offset ultimate fork, just serviced by J-tech with new SKF seals. This is with the (in my view superior to what is being used now) Charger 2 damper. Threaded for OneUp tool (not included).
Currently setup with full 27.5, but I can also set it up mullet or full 29". For me it runs best setup mullet.
Pinion C1.12 gearbox (lighter weight magnesium body) with 600% range and even steps between gears. Still in warranty, and I will give it an oil change before the sale.
Pinion CNC cranks
Pinion shifter and Ergon grips to suit
Based in Sheffield and would prefer collection if possible, happy to drive an hour or so to meet.
