Industry trophy is just a way to spend a good day on the bike with colleagues, nobody takes it too seriously. Regarding the category it's quite clear
Industry Pro for athletes representing the brand.
Industry Staff for the people with a working contract.
I'm not pro since 5 years, work fulltime since 3 years for Cannondale, had a good time riding with my buddy and glad they got motivated to ride with me all day.
If It would have 2 cannondale sponsored rider wanting to ride with me I would have the same fun and pleasure to ride it even without a chance to podium. Peace. Jerome

Most of the riders are not employee, but freelance, so on top you have to deduct charge and taxes... which mean the actual income is often way less. It's also make big difference depending on which country you are from.

Jerome Clementz Takes New Role as MTB Coordinator Europe for Cannondale, GT & Fabric
It's not my age or level that made me take this direction. It's just that for me Mountain Bike is not only about racing. If you race as a pro you need to commit at 100% and I did not have this will. I like doing more things around Bikes than just focusing on being the fastest to win. This new challenge is what's motivates me and where I want to give my best, but be sure I'll do some races to show people that I'm not done yet ????????
