Martha Creek Meltdown - Canada's Longest DH Race?

As the mountain bike scene continues to grow steadily in Revelstoke, a new enduro downhill race will try to capture another growing market of riders looking for the longest, most grueling descents in the world. Look no further than the Martha Creek meltdown, a summit to lake race boasting over 5000 feet of descending over 10+ kms of trail. Beginning in the alpine of Sale Mountain, racers will work hard in the upper section through rolling alpine meadows, making people wonder if they should have brought out the XC bikes. Fear not, the descending begins in earnest and gets steeper and rougher the further down you go. Rocketing through alpine,, sub-alpine, old growth and new cutblocks, this trail will test the fittest of riders with a seemingly endless singletrack that will have your arms and legs quaking before you even hit the halfway point. Staying true to enduro form, there will also be a timed ascent on the fire road for those who truly want to see how far they can push themselves or those who just like to suffer.

The race will be a Fundraiser for the Live It! Love It! Foundation, a non-profit organization that puts on adaptive adventure camps for disabled youth. Please come and support a great cause while you race on one of BC's best downhill tracks. Please see the attached poster and check the events page at www.liveitloveit.org for more details.
