Yeah stopping is something we should probably work on too. We just used a towel hung at the end of the cable to bring tha cam to a stop. Worked as long as you remembered to reset the towel each time.

Making our own DIY Cable Cam
I think this covers what we used For the mount: - Rollar blade wheels x4 - 3mm aluminium bar sections + bolts/butterfly nuts - small section of ply wood/mdf for the base - 2x 90degree braces from B&Q + more butterfly nuts and bolts - 70cm length of aluminium box section + butterfly nuts and bolts For the cable: - 10mm semi static rope - protraxion to add tension - several karibiners - slings - a towel to act as a braking device

Cheers! Yeah, climbing rope worked really well adn with the added help of the Petzel Protraxion we could get the rope very tight.
