I have too many hobbies, MTB being one of them.

Video: Brice Shirbach Explores the Tiny MTB Haven of Copper Harbor in ‘Underexposed’
@dungeonbeast: Oh no, I hope they don't end the lift riding! I'm a troll (in the Michigan sense, hopefully not the Internet sense) and I'm often up there for events, so that's probably why I've seen a lift line a decent fraction of the time I've been there.

You aren't kidding about the tech! Copper harbor trails are mostly purpose built for bikes. Marquette/Ishpeming has a lot of really raw jank that requires a lot more bike handling skills to survive. There are some real gems in copper harbor though, Overflow alone is worth going there to ride, repeatedly (in my opinion). Still has some pucker factor for me. It's such a fun trail with a little bit of everything. Marquette Mountain has good trails but the lift sucks. IMO Marquette mountain is only worth it if it's a slow enough weekend that you don't have to wait in a lift line, or if you have an ebike or fitness to pedal yourself up. If it's a busy weekend I prefer the Benson grade trails.
