Video: Setting the Guinness World Records Achievement for the Greatest Vertical Descent in 24 hours
Agreed - that was way over the top, botched & heavy handed attempt at marketing. Yawn.

RIP Dan Hanebrink: Inventor, Competitor & Mountain Bike Pioneer
Dan was a superb engineer and great innovator. I had some G7's - today they would be considered an inverted fork for Enduro. They were the plushest forks I ever used - that PHD damper was the biz. Everyone rags on reliability but his forks were meant to be maintained in the field if need be - many of the parts could be gotten in the hardware store and the fluid in the forks was a mix of vaseline and 20:50 motor oil. Dan would always answer the phone if you called him up for help. Sad to see him go.

Neko Mulally Has Been Testing a 27.5 / 29 Wheeled Frankenbike
@vinay: You are totally right - sorry I meant to say crown rather than arch - its pretty obvious the tire didn't hit the arch - but when I compressed it it didn't hit the crown either. As a precautionary measure I clamped the crown closer to the top of the stanchions giving a bit of extra clearance. It appears that there is space available.

@chickenlassi: It seems to work fine - I measured it and I'm pretty sure that the tire won't strike the arch of the fork - I've been running it one season so far and bottomed out a fair few times and so far so good. YMMV.

Me too. Jedi w/ 26 R / 27.5 F and coil sprung 888's that seem to work well with either dimension tire - I believe the Canfield Bros did it BITD before Jedi's came designed for 27.5 F+R. Gives new life to an excellent sled and it rides like a dream, the 27.5 tire just eats up the techgnar.
