Apr 4, 2024LARGE GIANT TRANCE X 29 3 - adjustable geometry
$1000 USDFor sale is my trusty Trance X, an affordable and highly-capable hardcore mountain bike ready to get you on some tough trails. It climbs surprisingly well with its supportive anti-squat suspension, and gives a lot of confidence in rowdy descents.
I used this bike mainly on the region's rocky, tight and technical trails and it excelled. While I love my new higher-end ride, I could do everything I do now on this Trance.
Brakes are strong and bite hard. The dropper seatpost has about 7 hours on a recent service. The cassette is new, and the chainring is protected by a frame-mounted bashguard.
Of note: The frame has minor nicks from trail wear, but I used frame protection throughout my use, and the finish is mainly glossy and smooth. There are small scratches on the fork stanchions, but they feel smooth to the touch and don't affect the wiper seals at all. One suspension bearing in the rocker arm seized, and a professional mechanic had to use a torch to remove and service it. The heat wrinkled the paint, but the frame integrity is unaffected. The bike has a new Sram SX cassette, but shifting is picky, as it was new with this drivetrain. Buyer may want to consider a simple upgrade to the drivetrain. Tires have about 20-40% wear - still trail-ready.
