We announce Hometown Hero riders next week. We won’t leak any names just yet, but you can probably take a guess on Dan’s involvement in the event!

@zanda23: it was our decision to move in a new direction with this event.

Actually, it’s a very different event. Hardline is awesome, but the size of the features means that the event will never secure all the fastest racers. We’re scaling the course back and making it more of a race focused event. We have no Freeride athletes and have focused entirely on World Cup racers. Our broadcast is also going to be quite different than a Hardline or World Cup event. The big one is our payment structure- athletes share 30% of live PPV revenue, with a potential prize pool of $1m+, with guaranteed minimums bigger than Hardline. We also pay based on placing- in Hardline there is an appearance fee and payment for 1-3. By paying based on placing we encourage everyone to race at their best, even if they’re maybe not in podium contention. If you’re confused we are happy to answer any questions.
