Pinkbike Poll: What MTB Upgrades Do You Regret Spending Money On?
I don't really regret any purchases from that list but what I do regret is under and over paying for those items which ultimately resulted in buying it again or chasing a trend and wasting money.
One thing I massively regret is cheaping out on padded shorts, premium stuff on my bum is so much nicer.

Jan 7, 2022Stif Morf - Medium
$800 GBPStif Morf, Medium
Lovely little hard tail and quite rightly labelled as well bastard fast.
Bought as a winter ride a few years back but it's time to make space in my garage. It's been well ridden so by no means perfect, there's scratches and chips and wear marks. That being said it's not been neglected, if it's needed doing it's been done and looked after to make sure it rides smoothly.
I'll do a lower fork service and brake bleed before it's sold and I'll also make sure it's fully cleaned (Mucky chain ring in photos)
I'll include some spares and like bleed syringes, and touch up paint.
Spec:
Stif morf mediums frame
Hope headset
Shimano XT groupset
absoluteBLACK oval chainring
Sram guide R Brakes
Rockshox Pike 130mm forks (Steer tube has been threaded for a one up EDC)
One up EDC top cap
DMR Zone rims, DMR zone front hub, Hope pro 4 rear
Nukeproof Horizon V2 alloy bars, stem, grips and seat
Brank X Dropper post
Steele Industries pedals
Based in Southampton but I regularly visit the Midlands or South wales so could meet trail side.

$220 GBPOff my YT in December, about 10 hours of riding on it and I had it sent back to the warranty centre as it wasn't holding pressure. I bought a new shock in the mean time and prefer the new purchase. Tiny bit of rust on the bushes but thats because they were sat in a box in the garage as I swapped out the bushes for heavy duty ones. Working as new now, turns out the valve was a touch loose so thats been replaced.

Feb 12, 2016Nukeproof TR- 18.5" build (Sram GX, Hope, Renthal)
$900 GBPThis is my 2013 Nukeproof TR and I've upgraded this bike over the last couple of years, latest upgrade was the SRAM GX swap over. I wont lie, It is well used, it hasn't seen any horrific terrain but its not been used to do the daily commute either. It's been well maintained and is mechanically sound, there's the usual cable rub marks along with some paint chips and scratches which typically comes with wiping out every so often. This bike has been brilliant, never let me down and definitely lives up to the brand name.
