Miranda Factory Team celebrates a successful season

The Miranda Factory Team conducts course reconnaissance in Maribor

In a year marked by countless competitions, the Miranda Factory Team was undoubtedly synonymous of success, guaranteeing through its athletes, titles and victories in the most diverse disciplines of MTB. Both at national level and beyond-border competitions, the Bairradina formation is currently a reference on the world scene, thus earning the status of UCI Team.

When it comes to Downhill, junior Gonçalo Bandeira made the "triplet", winning the Cup and the National Championship, as well as the European Championship of the same discipline. José Borges was the National Elite Champion and Vasco Bica won the Portuguese Cup in the Elite class.

Another highlight was the athlete from Lousã, Gonçalo Bandeira, who had the best result of the year in the DH World Cup - 5th place in Maribor - Slovenia. The "junior" also won the Austrian edition of Crankworx 2019.

On the other hand, José Borges who is part of the French Miranda Racing Team formation, in Portugal and with the Factory Team’s colours, won the title of National Enduro Champion ´19. Also noteworthy for the victories in Avalanche Licor Beirão and the mythical Mega Avalanche Alpe d´Huez.


Tiago Ladeira, who completed the international Enduro rounds with the Miranda Racing Team lineup, had several outstanding results throughout the year and secured the bronze medal at the EWS 2019. For the first time in UCI history, the Enduro MTB competition featured a Trophy of Nations. Among the 24 teams present and although Portugal did not send any official team, Tiago Ladeira was present with the Miranda Racing Team formation in the Industry Trophy category, achieving a brilliant 5th place.

World E-Bike Championship

When it comes to E-Bikes, Emanuel Pombo has been the worldwide Miranda Bike Parts’ reference. The Madeiran athlete secured the two-legged victory of the Bosch E-MTB Challenge - Austria and Germany, also won the debut of this discipline at the Avalanche Licor Beirão 2019 and was 2nd in the Spanish stage of WES e-Bike Series. Overall, the Portuguese was ranked 7th.

The World Championship debut of the E-Bike discipline took place at Mont-Saint-Anne in Canada. Among almost fifty athletes from seventeen nations present, the Madeiran Emanuel Pombo represented the Miranda e-Factory Team formation.
