Spring 2016, me and a bunch of my mates finally decide to realize one of our craziest dream, three weeks of riding in BC. Whistler, then Coast Gravity Park, to end with Kamloops and Sun peaks. Obviously, we wanted to be there before Crankworx, so we get there a week early to get a first taste of the Canadian dirt.
We are all from the smoggy Paris, but my buddy Charlie lived in Whistler for two years, so he’s got a battle plan ready for us.
CharlieMourad BenThe Ferry ride from Vancouver to the Island is breathtaking, BC at its best. After another 40 minutes of driving in our freshly hired Dodge Ram, we arrive. (French people only drive 1.9L Diesel bloody Renault so that 5.8L Ram petrol just sticks us to our seats)
Charlie and Vince are already flying. After battling with the elements, burning brake pads and the dusty dirt, nothing better than a little swim in some fresh water. Brett Rheeder, absolute weapon of a dude, win was well deserved. Back to Whistler to enjoy Crankworx, we decided to heckle the DH with beers instead of racing, and I took the time to get a few sick shots from Joyride. After Crankworx, it’s time to head to Kamloops, Charlie swears they are the best trails he has ever ridden there, so no time to waste. BC just does not disappoint, once again, we stop breathing, the views are just incomparable. Paul Lake Provincial ParkBloody hell Canada, get your shit together, it’s 30° during the day and 5° at night.Stars brightening the night. After three weeks to travel between cities, it's time for us to leave Canada and to return to ParisBack to Vancouver, unfortunately, our trip is ending, but don’t worry Whistler, we will be back… Somewhere in the South of Greenland.Home sweet home or not
