Throwback Thursday: Opinion - The Argument For Short-Travel Bikes
Tbh iv ridden my hardtail for3 years now on my local downhill tracks and tbh I think I have pushed my self to the point that I can't progress my skills on it anymore and I need a upgrade as the faster I go the more I get bucked of my pedals and my chain getting bucked down off two. I know there could be things like a chain Gide and clip in pedals to prove to that but iv learnt on a hard tail how to ride picking the lines that make the ride Easter and faster not taking the soft root with a full 8'' set up. But from my gut feeling I think I need a up grade that iv been dreaming of since I was 14 so I can push my self and feel safer and better doing so with a new rig allowing to get that good old feeling of progression and speed back but also allowing me to try and put that on to my hard tail to help me progress even more. I agree with this artical you see people on £3000 plus bikes that are going at speeds that are easily maid on a £500 hard tail and they clearly have not learnt the basics that a hard tail can give you. Im for sure no were near a pro and far from being fast but I can say I'm not slow and I can say Iv learnt it all on my hardtail that has been put throw it's passes and is getting a bit battered Now.
This is purely my view on this and my be wrong to some but right to others but may be wrong to you so keep this in mind please
