he's managed to crash his bike at Forest of Dean and is now in Gloucester hospital with a broken shoulder collapsed lung and broken ribs - dont know the details of the clumsy sods accident as yet but his wife will be visiting him today and we'll know more after that
i'm sure we all send our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to him
first run - apparently at the bottom of sheepskull the jumpy thing has been built up into a bit of a double and as h came off it his foot came off the pedal and on landing it all went terribly wrong he's done quite a few ribs along with the other stuff just to make a proper job of it - epidural and morphine on demand along with tremadol but he can still speak - will be in hospital for at least the next 4 days then long recovery with lots of pinkbike reading
I just want to give a really big thanks to everyone for all the messages, texts, calls etc. Thanks for thinking of me guys.
It was quite a big one but one of those things that could have happened any time. I was going for the jump at a good speed but one of the braking bumps just before the take off shook me enough to just nock a foot off the pedal. So there I was off the jump one footed and out of control, think you can guess the rest.
Smashed shoulder, four broken ribs, punched lung and the usual purple/blue/yellow body parts etc.
If anyone is thinking of taking a holiday at the Gloucester Royal Hospital, I can recommend the all inclusive option with unlimited intravenous morphine
daft bear!!! too brave for your own good
