Grom At Bat Bio: Cody Wilkins

by Cody
Write-up for Front Page Grom Biography. Hope to get this posted on the front page of Pink Bike. A biography of east coast rider Cody Wilkins. I hope you guys enjoy.Name: Cody Wilkins

Age: 15

Home Town: Lew Beach, New York (it's about 30 minutes from Plattekill)

Favorite Riding Spots: Plattekill!, The Proving Ground, and Diablo Freeride Park

Favorite Rider(s): I have a ton respect for the true legends. I would have to say Lars Tribus and Thomas Vanderham. Watching them ride is just amazing.

About: Well, I'm 15 years old and I've been racing for 2 years but riding for like 3 or maybe 4? I started racing BMX at 8 and have been addicted to biking since. I ride pretty much everything but street since I live in the middle of the woods. There are a ton of trails around my house but they are mostly cross- country. It is hard to build trails in my town because everything is privately owned. I ride mainly in my backyard and at the resorts. I usually ride with Ritchie Rude, he's incredibly fast and really pushes me to ride faster. Currently I've been skiing and just waiting for the season to start.

Current Rides: Well I have a 2007 Stinky Deluxe, and a 2004 Stuff with 24in wheels

2007 Accomplishments: 2007 Plattekill Dual Slalom Champion, Consistantly placed in top 10 in DH events, Diabloween Finalist.

2008 Goals: Dial in tricks, land tailwhip to pedals, win Gravity East series in DH,
and get good results in DS and DH at U.S. Open
