Jun 8, 2022Bontrager Aeolus 5 D3 Tubular Wheelset (55mm rims)
$300 USD2014 Bontrager Aeolus 5 D3 Front & Rear Tubular (55mm rims)
$600
Aeolus 5 D3 tubular road wheel offers the all-around performance of a 50mm carbon rim, while D3 shaping keeps the weight down and aero benefits up. OCLV Carbon rims with carbon body DT Swiss internals. Lightning fast wheels. Never crashed, straight and true.
Originally retailed for more than 2k.
Comes with Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0 tires (glued May 2020, kept in garage in wheel bags) with about 600 miles on them. Currently has a 10 speed freehub but can be converted to 11 or 12 at bike shop (no issues with rims). I used an Ultegra 11-34 Cassette with a deleted spacer in order to use it on my allez sprint with the 10 speed hub. Worked flawlessly and I got more gear range for hilly rides. Wheel bags come with the purchase.
All in all feels great on the road and looks beautiful. This wheelset has taken me on plenty of centuries, never raced, never dropped, pristine shape and matte carbon design is beautiful.
