Pivot Firebird 29er Enduro Bike, size M

$3600 USD
2024 Pivot Firebird with the stock Pro XT/XTR build kit Size M—ideal for riders 5’8”- 6’. Travel is 165 rear/170 front. Build highlights: Fox Factory 38 with grip 2 damper Fox Factory float x2 with both volume spacers installed for a slightly more progressive feel Fox transfer with 175 mm drop XTR rear derailleur Almost new Maxxis Assegai 3C maxxterra tires front and rear for exceptional traction 32 lbs without pedals Bike was purchased summer 2024. This 2024 frame is virtually identical in respect to geometry as compared to the model released a couple months back. (reach is identical, HA is .2 degrees slacker, SA is .4 degrees steeper). The only real difference between them is the new version has in frame storage and adjustable chain stays. Bike is ride wrapped and we pulled the XTR rear derailleur, the original cockpit, tires, and shock, swapping in more easily replaceable components and a coil shock. All these original parts have been put back on, along with a brand new XT cassette, new-ish brake pads, new BB, a professional brake bleed, and fork service. Additionally, all original pivot bearings have been replaced. Yes, the rims have some scuffs but they’re true, with no dents or flat spots, and the rear hub was serviced. $3600 Pedals not included. Cash or venmo. Buyer pays shipping. https://global.pivotcycles.com/archives/firebird-29

Pivot Trail 429 Enduro Build (small)

$4500 USD
Lightly ridden 2023 Pivot cycle’s Enduro build trail 429, size S. How lightly ridden? It’s still got the stock tires and they almost look new... It turns out that having a baby really cuts into one’s ability to go mountain biking This is a really fun bike. It’s like a rally car for single track. It’s virtually identical to the new Trailcat SL (which replaced it) but with burlier suspension, and a slightly shorter wheelbase. This makes for confident handling with fantastic agility whether you’re noodling along or pinning it down your favorite trail. I had no idea how good a bike with only 120 mm of rear travel could ride until I threw a leg over this beautiful rocket ship! Semi custom build: GX AXS drivetrain Shimano XT 4 piston brakes with 180 mm ice tech center lock rotors Fox float X shock and 140mm travel 36 grip 2 damper fork. Everything else is identical to the standard Pro XT/XTR build of the trailcat SL that replaced it in Pivot’s lineup. Pedals not included. $4500 Cash or Venmo. Local Pickup.

I would do that in a situation where a product is being reviewed, but for this piece its more of first look piece. Websites and pricing are super easy to find and not including them keeps out the trolls who just want to bitch about costs.

No, but maybe a post on mental health and how most men need therapy would be interesting.

@pierceklinke: the original idea was to have someone else test another 8-10 brands and make one bigger post to fit in everyone's favorite brand - but it fell through and this is what you get. I could not handle any more brands given the timeframe I had but I do love Wild Rye.
