FYI: User "isawtman" is Todd McMahon, notorious internet troll who lives in Wisconsin and spends all his free time trolling mt biking forums and articles about mt biking.

IMBA doesn't have the staff, resources or money (aka: "membership") to do what STC is doing at the level they are doing it. They really should focus on helping non-riders become riders, beginner riders to become intermediate and expert riders, and continue to help get new trails and trail networks for all skill sets built. They will never be successful saving 98% of the beloved legacy trails from the Wilderness or HOHA chopping block. But, they sure as hell shouldn't stand in STC's or anyone's way who is trying to retain access or gain new-found access. In fact, they should encourage people to fight those fights, and even throw a little money or minor resources at it since they are members of the same tribe.

@SierraClubRyan: You gotta start somewhere, Ryan. I hope you can recruit other brave employees within the Club to instill a surprising organizational change in attitude towards off-road bicycling. When the Club and/or its chapters start partnering with MTB orgs to advocate for and build new trails, or supports improved access in non-Wilderness areas, it may just start to win the MTB community over. Saying that lots of SC staff loves mountain biking doesn't do squat.

@vernonfelton: Well said... but it'll just go over the head of Todd McMahon (isawtman). He simply cannot accept facts and just showed he doesn't even understand what exactly is happening in Virgin, UT. It's a lease, not a sell-off Todd!

@SierraClubRyan: Re: "...wilderness-designated areas are a relatively small slice of the public lands pie and often far away from where people actually live." That applies to hikers and equestrians as well. Can you develop a coalition of people within the Sierra Club that will vocally support access for bicycling in Wilderness?

@isawtman: A decent marketing campaign can cost $10K-$20K per month. $130K in a year is nothing and it has done a wonderful job towards launching this multi-year effort to restore bike riding in wilderness.
