Avalanche in Colombia.

The avalanche format it's getting quite popular all around the world, and now its time for latin America.

On March 25th there will be a big event sponsored by Specialized Bicycles in Paipa, Colombia, its about an Avalanche not that long and difficult than that the ones done in the Alps, but it will be the first one there, and people is talking a lot about it.

PAIPAVALANCHE is the name or the race, it includes XC and DH, so anyone can enjoy this great opportunity to race against tons of riders from different places in different categories, there will be lots or prices, and the main idea of the organization is to establish this event as a wonderful party, mixing DH and XC together, it doesn't matter if you are professional or amateur.

The XC guys will climb up 10K to get to the Top of the hill, they will get points depending of the position arriving, they have a break and then all of them will go downhill in the same categories, same xc bikes, using the DH 8Km track, the points they get plus the ones of the uphill will give the winners.

The DH will have two runs in the 8K track, the results of the first one give the start places of the second one, witch its the one that gives the winners.

Colombia is located in the beautiful Andes, the nature and diversity are really amazing.

This will be the first Avalanche in Colombia, and for sure not the last one.
