Megavalanche 2016 - Race Day
@oliverody: I raced it for the first time last year. Was hoping for the main race and on for it in the quali, but a puncture about half way down put an end to that. Ended up qualifying for the amateur race too, but was on the front row! Got a good start, was possibly even leading for a bit, but a couple of crashes in the slush and getting beasted on some of the climbs meant that I finished 4th overall, 3rd in the Masters and a chance to stand on a Megavalanche podium and earning a medal. Felt like I had the course to myself for most of the race.
So similar to your story, just with a bit more luck I suppose!
Some of my mates were out there again this year, and I've been super jealous. Definitely would do it again.

Commencal Supreme DH V3
$1000 GBPNeed to raise some funds, so the DH bike has to go. Used but in decent condition. It has the expected scuffs from uplifts etc, but nothing major. Fork stanchions in perfect condition. Raced a couple of times, but not extensively.
Great, World Cup winning chassis will stand up to the toughest tracks you can throw it down. Adjustable wheelbase, 200mm/200mm travel. This is a solid build, intended to provide robust and long lasting performance. Bike is in full working order and has recently had some minor investment in order to sell (i.e. new jockey wheels, BB etc.)

Syncros DS 28 on Hope Hubs
$90 GBPSolid wheels. Syncros rims laced to Hope Pro2 front hub and Hope Bulb rear. Usual scuffs & some minor dings, but nowt serious. Nice & true. Front hub has QR and 20mm adaptors, rear is 135mm QR only. Rear hub will need new bearings.
